About us - the Bellissimo Coffee story

We are a boutique coffee roaster and coffee equipment supplier, established in Australia with the aim of searching the world for the finest quality specialty coffees for us to roast and cafe equipment that we can supply to our customers.  Wherever possible, we try to use the highest standards of ethical coffees that are organic, satisfy fair trade arrangements and are rainforest friendly. 

We have a great passion and interest in all things coffee, and strive to continue to improve on our products and service.  We thrive on the knowledge that the coffee world is very challenging and with so many variables there is much to learn.  Our aim is to produce products that deliver the highest possible levels of satisfaction to all our customers.

Our commercial espresso machines of choice are Conti coffee machines, as we believe these machines offer great functionality and performance without the extravagant price tags of other machines on the market.  We have a couple of Conti Twin Star 2 and Conti Xeos machines in use but also rate the Conti Essika SsK2 as a very compact machine great for cafes.  These machines are built in a  factory in Monaco, between Italy and France meaning they are exposed to the best of both worlds of great cuisine and the home of espresso coffee.

We use and recommend Santos and Cunhill coffee grinders, especially the new Santos 40A and Santos 55 silent grinders.  

We are also a big fan of the Canadian company Espro's range of innovative barista tools, including their Autotampers and Toroid milk pitchers.  These barista tools are very cleverly designed to help both home and professional baristas attain the highest quality and consistency in their performance behind the espresso machine.

Award winning coffee - Bellissimo Coffee's Awards and Achievements

Bellissimo Coffee has won the Gold Medal and Class Champion (overall winner) awards for Class 1 - Espresso at the 2010 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show awards for its premium coffee blend - Bellissimo Emporio.  This is an incredible feat considering it is the first time that we have entered the competition. 

This means that we are the first coffee roaster from Queensland to ever win the Gold Medal award for the Espresso Class in the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show, and the first Queensland company to ever be awarded the Class Champion medal in any class in the history of the event. 

This is a very humbling acknowledgement given that there is a great roasting community in Australia with many successful companies in the market.

We are also very delighted to share with you the news that Bellissimo Coffee won more awards for its coffee than any other coffee roaster in Australia at the 2011 Royal Hobart Fine Food Show.  This was our first time entering this competition so we are very excited with the result.

Amongst the awards we received for our coffees at the 2010 Royal Hobart Fine Food Show was another Gold Medal for the Bellissimo Emporio blend - this time in the Cappuccino - Classic International Style category of the event.

We're still checking the record books, but we believe that it may be the first time ever in the history of Australian coffee than any coffee roaster has won Gold Medals at both the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show and the Royal Hobart Fine Food Show in the same year.  (Noting that these are the only two Fine Food Shows across Australia that run coffee competitions).
